Rhine River Cruise–Kinderdijk

Kinderdijk is one of those places that you can’t come to the Netherlands and skip (unless you’ve been there previously). The sight of all those mills lined up along the waterway is like nothing else to be seen anywhere else. This was our 4th visit to Kinderdijk and for once it wasn’t raining or attempting to blow us us off the path. In fact, it was the nicest weather we’ve ever experience there.

No one knows how Kinderdijk got its name. It translates Children's Dyke and there is a story about a baby in a basket being washed up on the canal bank – so someone built a reed baby basket ala-Moses.
