Clear Your Throat While You Say Gouda, not gooda

Monday's hot & sticky weather gave way Tuesday to wonderfully cool weather. The day started with cloudy skies that gave way to wonderful sun and clouds - there's just something special about Dutch clouds. Landscape painters have been captivated by them for ages, and I can see why on a day like today.

We visited nearby Gouda. The centrum area is surrounded by a river so this historic center is pretty compact. The city hall dominates the central "square", which is somewhat different from many towns where the market is in front of the church. Here the church can barely be found. St Jans is "hidden" behind all the buildings that have been built around it, but it's well worth finding!

There was a choir practice going on while we were in the church. Here are a couple of videos that I shot just to get the incredible sound in this church.

This is one of my favorite photos from Gouda - Linda, with a bicycle, next to the cheese shop, on a very pretty section of canal, with a sky filled with those "Dutch clouds".

Our day finished with "Air Cooled Cruise Night" - a monthly get-together of VW fans that takes place in Zevenhuizen.
