Rhine River Cruise–Köln by Night, the Waal by Morning

This was the last full day of the cruise. The ship had sailed from Köln at 11 p.m. the night before. Since the bridges and cathedral are illuminated at night, we went up on the top deck to take in the sights as we sailed.

The cruise down the Rhine was very relaxing and casual. Late breakfast, no presentations to attend – just watch the Netherlands float by.

Once the Rhine crosses into the Netherlands, it is called the Waal. It doesn’t look like much, but the bridge below got us very excited. It is the bridge that crosses the Waal at Tiel / Echteld. This is where Linda’s Dad’s family is from
