Rhine River Cruise–Middle Rhine Valley

Today was the day that everyone on the cruise looks forward to – sailing through the Middle Rhine valley past all the castles and quaint towns.  It was certainly a special site to see, but the weather didn’t cooperate. We had gray, cloudy skies and flat light. Even so, when you are there you have to take photos, so here goes!

One castle in this section is “our castle”. It’s not really all that spectacular, and technically it is a ruin. Linda and I stayed in Burg Liebenstein on a trip in 2002. Well, we think we actually stayed in the medieval maid’s quarters behind the castle, but we had breakfast at the castle with a wonderful view of the Rhine River.
