Delft

Today was cold, grey, and windy for most of the day. Despite this, there was a full complement of vendors at the weekly market and the crowds didn't seem small. The sun came out in the afternoon and felt wonderfully warm even though the actual temperature didn't rise much.

Here's some shots from throughout the market. You can basically find just about anything you want here!

Our Market Day "haul" - and we forgot to include the fabric!
We took a welcome break in a local coffee shop, then toured the Delftware shops.

The local knitter's shop, called "Knotten" is located on a cute little canal.

The Prinsenhof museum was next on the list. This was the residence of "William, the Silent" at the time of his assasination. He was the first political figure to be assassinated with a gun - shot on these steps where the bullet holes can still be seen in the walls - or at least that is what is claimed.

IKEEEEEEYAAAAAA!!!! Dinner and some consumer tourism at the local Delft Ikea. The meatballs where wonderful, as usual. It is an "Ikea Concept Center", which we figure means that they have expanded display areas in certain areas to showcase more stock.

Back to the parking garage for the trip "home". This place is so "clean" that it would make almost any garage look cluttered and dirty. I swear you could eat off of this floor!
