In the Land of Windmills

We're happy to report that we had a safe and uneventful journey to the Netherlands. All of our flights were full, which was no problem, but the distance between rows on the flight from Philadelphia to Amsterdam was very close and made the flight feel claustrophobic.

Today was a day to just get to the apartment, pick a few groceries, and settle in. Since I can barely keep my eyes open, I'll just include some pictures of our apartment and surroundings.

Our apartment is on 2 levels - the bedroom downstairs, and a large living / dining/ kitchen space upstairs.

As you can see, we're surrounded by some fairly industrial looking stuff. The house sits on the corner of what looks to have been a larger farm. As the years have gone by the farm was converted to greenhouses and the town grew out towards the farm so there is a mix of housing and industry in the same area. Despite the industrial look, it's very quiet.
